In this paper, we analyze classical data compression with quantum side information (also known as the classical-quantum Slepian–Wolf protocol) in so-called large and moderate deviation regimes. non-asymptotic setting, protocol involves compressing sequences of finite length $n$ decoding them assistance information. regime, rate is fixed, obtain bounds on error exponent function, which characterizes minimal probability a function rate. Classical data compression with quantum side information
The problem of classical data compression when the decoder has quantum side information at his disposal is considered. This is a quantum generalization of the classical Slepian-Wolf theorem. The optimal compression rate is found to be H(X)−χ where H(X) is the Shannon entropy of the source and χ is the Holevo quantity of the ensemble describing the classicalquantum correlations between the sourc...
متن کاملDuality of privacy amplification against quantum adversaries and data compression with quantum side information
Information processing protocols are typically built out of simpler parts, called primitives, and two of the most important such primitives are privacy amplification (PA) and data compression. The former extracts the truly secret part of some classical data, while the latter squeezes it into the smallest possible form. We show these tasks are dual in the setting of quantum information processin...
متن کاملQuantum Information Processing with Non-classical Light
Quantum information processing (QIP) is a field concerned with technological applications of quantum mechanical phenonomena. In many cases, photons are an ideal quantum system for such applications. Photons exhibit superb coherence properties, are robust to environmental noise, and can be transmitted over long distances. One of the main difficulties of photon based quantum information processin...
متن کاملMeasurement compression with quantum side information using shared randomness
We consider the problem of measurement compression with side information in the one-shot setting with shared randomness. In this problem, Alice shares a pure state with Referee and Bob and she performs a measurement on her registers. She wishes to communicate the outcome of this measurement to Bob using shared randomness only, in such a way that the outcome that Bob receives is correctly correl...
متن کاملTrading quantum for classical resources in quantum data compression
We study the visible compression of a source E = {|φi〉, pi} of pure quantum signal states, or, more formally, the minimal resources per signal required to represent arbitrarily long strings of signals with arbitrarily high fidelity, when the compressor is given the identity of the input state sequence as classical information. According to the quantum source coding theorem, the optimal quantum ...
